Blood test may predict who succeeds at weight loss surgery
NCT ID NCT07325916
Summary
This study aims to find out if a specific protein in the blood (apolipoprotein) can predict how much weight a person will lose after sleeve gastrectomy surgery for severe obesity. Researchers will measure this protein in 110 patients before their surgery and track their weight loss over 8 months. The goal is to help doctors better identify which patients are most likely to benefit from this surgery versus other weight loss methods.
