Protein puzzle: study seeks right amount for FSHD muscle health
NCT ID NCT06785428
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at how much protein adults with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) need each day to support their muscles. FSHD causes progressive muscle loss, and getting enough protein is key for muscle maintenance. Researchers will use a safe, non-invasive method to measure protein needs in 10 adults aged 26-60 with confirmed FSHD. The goal is to provide better dietary guidance to help preserve strength and function.
