Protein power: army study seeks optimal dose to fight muscle wasting

NCT ID NCT07069426

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how different amounts of protein (20 vs 40 grams) affect muscle building during periods of muscle disuse, like when a leg is immobilized after injury. Researchers will measure muscle protein synthesis in 28 healthy adults to find the best protein dose to prevent muscle loss. The goal is to improve recovery from musculoskeletal injuries.
