First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at how different amounts of whey protein affect muscle building when a leg is immobilized, mimicking injury. Twenty-eight healthy adults will have one knee immobilized and receive either 20 or 40 grams of protein. Researchers will measure how well their muscles make new protein to find the best dose for preventing muscle loss.
