First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving protein in short, scheduled doses (intermittent feeding) is better than the standard continuous drip for preventing muscle wasting in critically ill patients. About 68 adults in the ICU will be randomly assigned to one of the two feeding methods. Researchers will measure how quickly patients reach their daily protein goal and check muscle changes with ultrasound and biopsy.
