Higher progesterone dose may boost IVF success in women with low levels

NCT ID NCT04806919

First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether increasing the dose of vaginal progesterone (a hormone that supports pregnancy) helps women with low progesterone on the day of embryo transfer. 87 women undergoing IVF with a single frozen embryo were given either 400 mg twice or three times daily. The goal was to see if the higher dose led to more ongoing pregnancies with a detectable heartbeat.
