Gut bugs vs. bad air: probiotic test shields workers from pollution

NCT ID NCT07418489

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily probiotic supplement can help protect the body from the harmful effects of air pollution. It involves 70 healthy street market vendors in Turin, Italy, who work in highly polluted areas. Researchers will give half the participants the probiotic blend and half a placebo for four months, then measure changes in inflammation, DNA damage, and gut health to see if the supplement provides a protective benefit.
