Can a gut Tune-Up make you run faster?

NCT ID NCT07411482

Summary

This study aims to understand if taking probiotics (good bacteria) while following a specific diet can improve gut health and running performance in marathon runners. Researchers will enroll 27 experienced male marathon runners, giving half a probiotic supplement and half a placebo for four weeks while everyone eats the same controlled diet. They will measure changes in fitness, gut bacteria, and body inflammation to see if the probiotics make a difference.
