First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking probiotics or prebiotics for 4 weeks could help healthy adults handle stress better. 73 men and women took a placebo, probiotic, or prebiotic, then did a tough physical and mental challenge (including mild electric shocks). Researchers measured gut leaks, stress hormones, and thinking skills to see if the supplements made a difference.
