This study tested whether giving probiotics (good bacteria) to preterm babies for 28 days after birth can reduce serious gut infections, sepsis, and improve growth. 249 preterm infants weighing less than 2500 grams took part. Researchers compared single-strain and multiple-strain probiotics to see which works better.
