First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether taking probiotics (live, friendly bacteria) can reduce period pain and premenstrual symptoms in women. About 150 women with regular cycles and moderate-to-severe cramps will take probiotics for 4 menstrual cycles and report their pain, mood, and sleep quality. The goal is to find a natural, side-effect-free way to improve quality of life during periods.
