Summary
This study tested whether vaginal capsules containing live, helpful bacteria (probiotics) could safely treat bacterial vaginosis (BV), a common vaginal infection. It compared three different strengths of the probiotic capsules against the standard antibiotic treatment, metronidazole. The main goal was to see if the probiotic treatment was safe and well-tolerated by the 57 women who participated.
