Summary

This study tests whether a probiotic called VE818 can reduce harmful bacteria in the gut and improve gut health in pregnant women. The trial involves 144 women in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Zambia, and Burkina Faso who are in early pregnancy. Participants will take an antibiotic followed by either VE818, a placebo, or no treatment, and researchers will measure changes in gut bacteria levels.
