Summary

This study tests whether a probiotic called VE818 can reduce harmful gut bacteria and improve gut health in pregnant women. About 144 women in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Zambia, and Burkina Faso will take an antibiotic followed by either VE818, a placebo, or no treatment. The goal is to see if the probiotic helps restore healthy gut function and reduce inflammation.
