First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether taking a specific probiotic alongside the antibiotic rifaximin helps more people with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) get better and stay better. About 100 adults with SIBO and irritable bowel syndrome will be randomly assigned to get either the probiotic or a placebo with their antibiotic. The goal is to see if the combination leads to higher cure rates and fewer relapses.
