Gut bacteria tested as potential aid for Kids' tics

NCT ID NCT04805385

Summary

This study tested whether a specific probiotic called Lactobacillus plantarum PS128 could help reduce tics and improve quality of life for children with Tourette's syndrome. Over 12 weeks, 80 children with Tourette's took either the probiotic or a placebo pill, while 40 healthy children provided comparison data. Researchers measured changes in tic severity, behavior, and gut health to see if the supplement made a difference.
