Friendly bacteria tested to stop pesky vaginal infection from coming back
NCT ID NCT07474831
Summary
This study is testing whether a probiotic supplement can help prevent bacterial vaginosis (BV) from returning after standard antibiotic treatment. About 156 women with a history of recurrent BV will take either the probiotic or a placebo pill daily for 12 weeks. Researchers will then follow them for another 12 weeks to see if the probiotic reduces how often the infection comes back.
