First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a probiotic called Streptococcus salivarius Evol12 can help children aged 3 to 11 who often get tonsillitis (sore throats with fever). About 200 kids will take either the probiotic or a placebo for 3 months, then switch. Researchers will track how many sore throat episodes occur, how long they last, and if kids miss less school.
