New gut treatment aims to stop stunting before birth
NCT ID NCT07134790
Summary
This study is testing whether a probiotic called VE818 can improve gut health in pregnant women. Researchers want to see if taking the probiotic after a short antibiotic course can reduce harmful gut bacteria and inflammation, which may help mothers absorb more nutrients. The goal is to see if this leads to healthier pregnancies and helps prevent poor growth and stunting in their babies.
