Can a daily probiotic pill tune up your gut?
NCT ID NCT06740500
Summary
This study tested whether taking a specific probiotic strain (Bifidobacterium animalis Bi66) for 8 months could improve gut function in healthy adults. Researchers compared the probiotic to a placebo (a dummy pill) in 117 participants who reported having fewer than five bowel movements per week. The main goal was to see if the probiotic changed how often people had bowel movements and the makeup of their gut bacteria.
