Minty probiotic tested to stop gum disease before it starts
NCT ID NCT07256743
Summary
This study is testing whether a special probiotic mint lozenge can help prevent gingivitis, a common and reversible form of gum inflammation. Healthy adult volunteers will stop brushing their teeth for 21 days to intentionally develop mild gingivitis, while taking either the probiotic or a placebo lozenge twice daily. Researchers will measure gum bleeding and inflammation to see if the probiotic helps maintain healthier gums during this period.
