Summary
This study looked at whether taking a multi-strain probiotic supplement for 8 weeks could help recreational exercisers perform better and recover more quickly from muscle-damaging exercise. Thirty-six healthy adults aged 18-40 who exercise regularly took either the probiotic or a placebo. Researchers measured muscle soreness, inflammation, and other recovery markers to see if the probiotic made a difference.
