Summary

This study tested whether a daily probiotic supplement (Bacillus coagulans) could ease symptoms of functional constipation. For 8 weeks, 80 adults with constipation took either the probiotic or a placebo pill. Researchers measured changes in bowel habits, discomfort, and the diversity of gut bacteria.
