Gut bacteria pill tested to stop colon polyps

NCT ID NCT07167342

Summary

This study is testing whether a probiotic pill containing a specific gut bacteria (Clostridium butyricum) can help prevent colon polyps from growing back after they have been removed. It will involve 300 adults who have recently had polyps removed during a colonoscopy. Participants will take either the probiotic or a placebo pill daily, and doctors will check for new polyps with follow-up colonoscopies over three years.
