Scientists test probiotics vs. drugs in gut bacteria lab experiment
NCT ID NCT06114303
Summary
This was a laboratory study that aimed to understand how two specific probiotic products and five common types of medications (like antibiotics and anti-inflammatories) affect the community of bacteria in our gut. Researchers grew bacteria from stool samples provided by healthy adult women and young children in a lab setting to observe the changes. The study was terminated early and did not test treatments directly in people.
