First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests if giving a special probiotic (Bifidobacterium longum W11) and Colopectin together can help children aged 2 to 6 with long-term constipation stop their daily laxative (macrogol) without the constipation coming back. One hundred children will receive either the supplement or a placebo for 4 weeks, then be followed for another 4 weeks. The goal is to see if the supplement helps maintain regular bowel movements after stopping the laxative.
