First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a daily supplement containing a friendly bacteria (Bifidobacterium longum W11) and a natural fiber (colopectin) can help children aged 2 to 6 years with chronic constipation stop taking their laxative (macrogol) without the constipation coming back. One hundred children will receive either the supplement or a placebo for 4 weeks, then be monitored for another 4 weeks. The goal is to see if the supplement helps maintain regular bowel movements after stopping the laxative.
