Live bacteria capsule tested as new treatment for common vaginal infection
NCT ID NCT07418918
Summary
This study tested whether a vaginal capsule containing two types of live, helpful bacteria (probiotics) could safely and effectively treat bacterial vaginosis (BV). It involved 66 women aged 18-50 with BV, who were randomly assigned to receive either the probiotic capsule or a placebo (dummy treatment) for comparison. The main goal was to see if the treatment could restore a healthy vaginal environment and eliminate signs of the infection.
