Summary

This study tested a new retinal implant called PRIMA for the first time in people. It aimed to see if the tiny chip could restore some light perception in five patients who were legally blind from advanced dry age-related macular degeneration. The researchers checked if electrical stimulation from the implanted device could create visual sensations for the participants.
