First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This early study is testing whether a gel made from a patient's own blood components can help heal chronic leg ulcers that won't close on their own. Researchers will apply the platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) gel as a dressing to see if it improves wound healing in 40 adults. The main goal is to see if the treatment leads to significant improvement in wound appearance and health over time.
