Blood clot breakthrough: new treatment may ease pain after wisdom tooth surgery
NCT ID NCT07351279
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether using a patient's own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) — a concentrated blood clot — in the wound after wisdom tooth removal can reduce tooth sensitivity and improve gum health on the nearby tooth. About 56 adults with impacted wisdom teeth will be treated. The goal is to see if PRF helps the area heal better than a normal blood clot.
