First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether placing a special mesh (Ultrapro) during bladder removal surgery could lower the chance of developing a parastomal hernia, a common complication. 178 patients having bladder removal for cancer took part. The goal was to see if the mesh helped prevent this hernia better than surgery alone.
