Summary

This study tests a new pill (CIR-NA) that releases nicotinic acid in the gut to see if it can stop prediabetes from turning into type 2 diabetes. About 390 adults with prediabetes will take the pill or a placebo daily for 26 weeks, along with lifestyle advice. The goal is to see if more people return to normal blood sugar levels with the pill.
