Summary

This study tested whether placing antibiotics directly into the surgical wound, in addition to standard IV antibiotics, could reduce infections after surgery. 284 adults having elective procedures like hernia repair or gallbladder removal took part. The goal was to see if the combined approach worked better than IV antibiotics alone.
