Doctors test simple trick to stop anesthesia burning pain

NCT ID NCT07285980

Summary

This study tested two different ways to prevent the common burning pain people feel when receiving the anesthesia drug propofol. Researchers compared mixing lidocaine directly with propofol versus a brief lidocaine 'tourniquet' method in 180 adults having elective surgery. The goal was to find which approach was better at reducing injection pain during the start of anesthesia.
