NCT ID NCT07319715

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether combining a surgical stitch to support the cervix (cerclage) with a hormone medication (vaginal progesterone) can prevent preterm birth in women carrying twins who have a short cervix. 59 women participated and researchers measured inflammation markers in cervical fluid to understand how the treatment works. The goal was to help more women carry their twins to at least 37 weeks.
