NCT ID NCT05287451
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study looks at a new approach to prevent ovarian cancer in women with BRCA or other high-risk gene mutations. Instead of removing both ovaries and fallopian tubes at once, participants first have only the fallopian tubes removed, delaying ovary removal until later. The goal is to see if this two-step method is as safe as the standard surgery for preventing cancer, while possibly delaying menopause. The study involves 100 premenopausal women aged 25-50 who are done having children naturally.
