First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether moving a breathing tube in the mouth every 4 hours instead of every 8 hours can prevent sores and injuries in ICU patients. About 230 adults on ventilators will be randomly assigned to one of two schedules. Researchers will track mouth health for up to 14 days to see which timing works better.
