First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a surgical procedure called Immediate Lymphatic Reconstruction (ILR) to prevent lymphedema—chronic arm swelling—in women at high risk after breast cancer surgery. About 98 participants will be randomly assigned to receive ILR or standard care during lymph node removal. Researchers will track swelling and quality of life for two years to see if ILR makes a difference.
