New IV strategy aims to stop common kidney damage after heart scans
NCT ID NCT04936607
Summary
This study is testing whether a personalized IV fluid plan can prevent kidney damage that sometimes occurs after common heart procedures like angiograms or stents. Over 1,100 patients will receive either a standard fluid rate or a rate adjusted based on their heart pressure and the amount of dye used. The goal is to see if this tailored approach better protects the kidneys and reduces serious heart and kidney problems.
