Blood clot bandage may shield jaw bones after tooth pulls
NCT ID NCT07585123
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special blood product called platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) can prevent a painful jaw bone condition (osteonecrosis) after tooth extractions. Forty patients who had head/neck radiation or take bone-strengthening drugs will receive either L-PRF or standard care. The goal is to see if L-PRF helps the socket heal better and reduces the chance of bone death over one year.
