Simple pad could protect kids from painful IV tube sores

NCT ID NCT04540822

Summary

This study tested if placing a small, soft compress (pad) under the connection point of an IV catheter could prevent painful skin sores in hospitalized children. Nurses compared the standard way of securing the IV tube to using the extra pad. The goal was to see which method better protected children's skin from pressure damage and reduced their pain.
