First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study tests a new antimicrobial solution called TauroPace that is applied to implantable heart devices before surgery. The goal is to see if it can prevent serious infections, which currently affect up to 2% of patients within a year and can be fatal. About 1000 adults getting a heart device will be randomly assigned to receive either TauroPace or standard care, and their infection rates will be compared over 12 months.
