First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at two different drug combinations to prevent emergence delirium—a state of confusion and agitation—in children after sevoflurane anesthesia for heart catheterization. Fifty children will be randomly assigned to receive either dexmedetomidine plus midazolam or ketamine plus midazolam. The goal is to see which combo better reduces the risk of this distressing side effect.
