Light beams aim to stop Post-LASIK dry eye before it starts

NCT ID NCT05803798

Summary

This study tested whether two types of light therapy given before laser eye surgery (like LASIK) could prevent dry eye, a common and uncomfortable side effect. Researchers enrolled 62 patients scheduled for surgery and randomly assigned some to receive the light treatments. They measured eye dryness symptoms and tear film quality for six months after surgery to see if the pre-treatment helped.
