New study aims to stop child abuse before it starts

Summary
This study tests whether offering support to mothers during pregnancy and early childhood can prevent child maltreatment and reduce the harm from intimate partner violence. About 600 mothers and children will take part. Researchers will measure parenting behaviors and child safety to see if the programs work.
