Hospitals update skin checks to protect kids of color from painful bedsores

Summary
This study aims to improve a tool used to assess a child's risk of developing painful bedsores (pressure injuries) while in the hospital. Researchers are working with families and healthcare staff to update the tool so it works better for children with darker skin tones. They will then test the updated tool in 10 UK children's hospitals to see if it more accurately identifies which children are at high risk.
