Calming the Wake-Up: drug trial aims to soothe Post-Surgery confusion

Summary

This study aims to find which of two common drugs, dexmedetomidine or lidocaine, is better at preventing agitation and confusion when patients wake up from anesthesia after sinus surgery. Researchers will enroll 80 adults undergoing elective sinus surgery and randomly assign them to receive one of the drugs during their procedure. The main goal is to see which medication more effectively reduces this distressing but temporary recovery symptom.
