Spray vs. clip: new hope to stop dangerous bleeding after colonoscopy

NCT ID NCT07257926

Summary

This study aims to prevent a serious complication—delayed bleeding—after doctors remove large colon polyps. It will compare two methods: spraying a protective powder (sucralfate) directly onto the wound versus placing a standard metal clip. The trial will enroll 160 high-risk patients who are on blood-thinning medications and have large polyps, to see which method is more effective at stopping bleeding that can occur days or weeks after the procedure.
