Gentler breathing help tested for tiniest babies
NCT ID NCT04209946
Summary
This study tested whether giving a lung medication through a less invasive method, combined with caffeine, works better than standard breathing support alone for very premature infants. Researchers compared these two approaches in 180 babies born between 24 and 30 weeks to see which one better prevented the need for a breathing tube and ventilator in the first three days of life. The goal was to find gentler ways to support these fragile newborns' breathing.
