New dressing tested to stop bed sores before they start

NCT ID NCT05619003

Summary

This study tested the safety of a special silicone dressing placed on the lower back (sacrum) to prevent pressure injuries (bed sores) in hospitalized patients at risk. It involved 67 adult patients in Danish hospitals who were expected to stay for more than 24 hours. The dressing was checked daily for up to 7 days to see if it caused any skin problems or other safety issues.
